Best of all: these alerts are all automated so we don't need anyone sitting behind a keyboard to issue the alerts. Our service is free to use (yes indeed, it won't cost you money!) and runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year so no space weather event will go unnoticed! How to subscribe for alerts on my Smartphone/Tablet?

  • 1. Install the official Twitter App on your smartphone/tablet
  • 2. Go to our profile @_SpaceWeather_
  • 3. On our profile page, click on the gear icon
  • 4. Tap on "Turn on Notifications" to start receiving the alerts

How to subscribe for alerts on my dekstop/laptop or Android tablet/smartphone?

  • 1. When browsing our website, click the bell icon in the downright corner
  • 2. Click on the button 'Subscribe'
  • 3. The browser will give a pop-up weather to allow notifications from our website, please give us the permission so you'll get all of our alerts
  • 4. A message will be displayed if it all went correctly
Browser support is limited to Safari, Firefox and Chrome.

How to subscribe for e-mail alerts?

  • After filling in the form below, you will receive an e-mail to confirm your subscription
  • Compose a new, empty, e-mail message to the address stated in that e-mail and paste the activation codeline into the content and send the e-mail
  • After this you will receive a welcome message and confirmation of subscription
  • You are now succesfully added to the alert system

Good to know about our email service

You will only get emails during significant space weather events. Note that you can receive many emails from our alert system during periods of high solar and/or geomagnetic activity. Some systems might see this as spam and will block the emails so it is a good idea is to add our email address to your safe email list so it won't end up in the spam section of your mailbox.

If you did not confirm your e-mailaddress, you will not receive these messages. The messages are a one way services and can't be replied to.

To unsubscribe, use the e-mail address that you used when you subscribed! If you still receive e-mail alerts after unsubscribing, then you'll probably entered an incorrect e-mailaddress. If you don't remember what your subscription e-mail address was, search in your mailbox for the welcoming message of the list which contains your correct address and use that to unsubscribe.
